Not going until tomorrow but I'll be willing to bet it'll be the same usual crap. As long as the organisers keep getting the extortionate payments for the stalls nothing will change!

Sean -

hope you had fun

M.C. The show was crap as always. Didn't expect anything else really, but that's not the reason we go to it. We travel all that way to meet up with old friends we don't get to see anywhere near enough. We spent time shooting the breeze with Josie at his stand and had a laugh as Benny took a step back towards the "Dark side"! :? Then there's the now traditional time spent at the casting site chatting with John Henry while watching (and freezing our ass's off) as Andrew, Paddy and Keith put on their casting display. Then when we can't take the cold anymore we promise to meet up again, bid farewell and head back home.

As for tackle to buy (beach rods and reels), the selection was very limited - as usual. Josie had a range of Century's on sale - which did! As well as other ranges. Tony's Tackle had a very poor range of "new" decent sea tackle on display but almost all of the limited number of Zziplex's and Century's he had for sale were secondhand and grossly overpriced at that. The price of his secondhand multipliers was rediculus to say the least. Whilst I didn't visit the BAC stand myself I was informed by several people at the show that there was very little, if any, in the way of "bargains" coming from there.

There was an alarming increase in "information stands" there as well as fly-tying stands this year with the noticable dissapearance of several Tackle stands like the Abu Reel stand and the Tool stand. Can't wait for next year! :?

When was it ever going to get better - either show? Dublin or Belfast. Each show is great if you're a fluff chucker or are after clothing. Even the course gear at both shows is generally of bottom end (cheap import) quality. I think you're living in a dream world mate. As long as the promoters continue to get their stall prices and there's enough people still coming through the doors then nothing will change for the better.

We only go to meet up with Andrew, John and co. Oh! - and to laugh at the prices Tony Kirrage has on his rods and reels. And for a natter with Josie, usually a laugh or two had there!
